Industry Veterans to Drive Strategic Growth and Strengthen Operations for Leading National Commercial Truck Dealership.

(October 1, 2024) – Trucks & Parts, founded in 1950 as the nation’s first garbage truck dealer, has been the nation’s leader in the solid waste and vocational truck industries for nearly 75 years. As the company approaches this major milestone, it continues its tradition of excellence by welcoming two seasoned industry professionals, Greg McCarty and Mike Derr, to its leadership team.

Greg McCarty joins Trucks & Parts as the new Inventory Procurement Manager, bringing over two decades of expertise in refuse truck sales, product management, and project leadership. Greg’s career spans 15 years at McNeilus, where he held positions such as National Accounts Manager and Senior Business Manager. He later spent 7 years at JCB as North American General Manager for Product Sales & Major Accounts. With his extensive industry knowledge and leadership experience, Greg will enhance the inventory management processes, ensuring Trucks & Parts continues to offer the largest, most desirable trucks in the industry.

Mike Derr steps into the role of Director of Business Development, bringing 18 years of industry expertise, primarily from his tenure at McNeilus, to the Trucks & Parts team. Over the course of his career, Mike has excelled in a variety of leadership roles, from Inside Sales Manager to Director of Sales, where he most recently managed the high-profile WM account. His extensive experience and proven ability to collaborate with refuse companies of all sizes position him perfectly to lead Trucks & Parts’ strategic expansion into the Midwest, driving growth and further strengthening customer relationships.

“We’re excited to welcome both Greg and Mike to the Trucks & Parts team,” said Brion Maguire, President of Trucks & Parts. “Greg’s expertise in vehicle acquisition and inventory management, along with Mike’s extensive experience in business development and customer engagement, will be instrumental as we continue to build on nearly 75 years of strong partnerships with our vehicle sources and clients. Greg’s leadership will ensure we secure the cleanest, best-maintained trucks on the market, while Mike’s focus on expanding our customer base will drive our strategic growth—reinforcing what sets Trucks & Parts apart from the competition.”

Scott Dols, CEO of Trucks & Parts, remarked, “Our exponential growth has been fueled by assembling the best team in the industry, and Greg and Mike’s addition continues that tradition. At every level, our success is driven by having the most talented people in the waste industry. We’re confident that Greg and Mike will play key roles in helping us maintain that trajectory as we continue to expand.”
